Men du och jag behöver någon som stöttar vårat segel genom stormen

I just finished watching "Earthlings." I knew conditions were very bad, but fuck, that is just... wrong. I am deeply ashamed of and for my species. Some (or most) of it... Scratch that, ALL of it was just sick, nauseatingly, cruelly, disgustingly, sick.

It completely reaffirmed my decision to give up meat. Perhaps someday I will make the next step to veganism, but in the mean time, the eggs I get I could if I so desired meet the chickens, and they live outside in fairly good conditions. Milk not quite so much, but actually yesterday we got some from a farmer acquaintance that is free-range, grass-fed, and cruelty free, beyond the intrinsic cruelty of keeping non-humans captive for out convenience.

I have been intending to watch food, inc for a while. Thank you for reminding me. I'm not sure if I can watch it right away. Humans are really fucking sick, aren't we?

I finally watched Food, inc. It was very good, but I already knew or knew of most of what they talked about. However, I'm a big Michael Pollan fan, so it was great to see him, and also to see Polyface farm and Joel Salatin. Did you read Omnivore's Dilemma? Mostly the same sort of stuff, but it's very well written.

The clip was, indeed, rather unhelpful. All rather common sense, IMO. I've got 2.5 so I'm partway there. Oh wait, 3.5, it's been a loong time since I went to a zoo.

Where did you get your figure that half the world are vegetarians? I was under the impression it was under 10%.

How horrible! Is Sweden like France, and nobody believes in neutering their pets?
